Grok Bot’s October 14 changelog, covering versions 0.71.0–0.71.2, describes notifications moving to the Mac or Windows PC being used instead of the phone. It also lists uploads of up to 250 MB for files and 1 GB for videos. The company marks these notification and upload changes as requiring version 0.70.2 or later. This is a previously uncovered October 14 release, not an October 20 launch.
The release separately raises a message’s attachment count to 20 while describing a 200 MB combined limit; the larger individual-upload figures should not be read as permission to attach twenty maximum-size files together. Bots can also send from tagged email addresses, with a routine restricted to mail for its tag. These are vendor-reported behaviors, not results from our own tests.
Editorial take: For a document-heavy workflow, the useful improvement is fewer interruptions between preparing material and getting it into the assistant’s conversation. But file size, attachment count and whether a video can actually be inspected are different checks. Begin with a small representative batch, confirm which items arrived, and ask the Bot to identify anything it could not use. Notification routing also deserves a quick check before relying on a phone alert while working at a desktop.
