OpenAI’s October 16 release notes introduce ChatGPT Slides, a presentation workspace where people can revise a deck directly or ask ChatGPT to change it. The rollout covers eligible Pro, Business and Enterprise users with Space access on the web and desktop. The accompanying guide gives dots a specific role: users can mention their dot in shared comments to request edits. This is a documented collaboration workflow, not a claim that every Dots account has received a separate new presentation feature.

People with edit access can work on the same deck simultaneously, but comment-only access is unavailable at launch. There is also a Windows distinction: without the required MXC component, local AI slide work uses PowerPoint files instead of collaborative Slides. The guide directs those users to cloud mode or the web for the collaborative experience. Web exports include PowerPoint, PDF and Google Slides, and OpenAI advises checking the exported content and formatting before use.

Editorial take: The practical improvement is keeping feedback attached to the presentation being revised, rather than scattering corrections across a chat and several downloaded versions. Before inviting reviewers, check whether the available permissions fit their role, then test one targeted edit and inspect the exported deck. An editable handoff can shorten review, but it does not establish that the underlying claims, charts or layout are correct. We have not tested the rollout.
